A Stronghold of Japanese Culture
At the meeting point of river and sea, huge Osaka combines forward-thinking development and sure-footed tradition. This is symbolised in its temple-like, 16th century castle, guarded by ramparts and enlivened by vibrant spring cherry blossom. Dominating the surrounding skyline is Osaka Business Park, a reminder of the city’s strong role in the Japanese economy.
However, the most striking skyscraper is the Umeda Sky Building - 2 towers connected by a rooftop terrace offering far-reaching views. The nearby Osaka and Umeda train stations are linked by underground shopping centres, while the shops of Shinsaibashi’s America Village appeal to a younger crowd. Dōtonbori’s neon lights promote more shops, as well as restaurants considered the best in Osaka. In a city touted as Japan’s culinary capital, that’s quite an accolade.
The Tsūtenkaku tower overlooks Tennōji Park, home of the Osaka Municipal Museum of Art. Another nearby park houses Shitennō-ji, one of Japan’s oldest Buddhist temples.
The Kyocera Dome Osaka is a shrine of baseball, and more thrills are at waterfront Universal Studios Japan, the country’s 2nd largest theme park. Also by the sea is Kansai International Airport, on its own artificial island.

Beautiful city, squeaky clean, amazing people, amazing food (except Dotonbori, DO NOT eat there, overpriced, yucky and food sold/made by non locals! Osaka castle, Ferris wheel, markets, etc. all worth the visit! City is so clean that you if you'd drop your food on the ground, you can just pick it up and keep eating, I would. Getting around Osaka is "easy" well...the metro system albeit, flawless is way behind Korea. Needs to be unified. To switch just from Nanba to Chuo line you need to take 7659 stairs. But yeah. It's on time, and flawless and clean. Umeda station and other separate lines are also a big mess, JR, HR, Osaka metro...all piled on one another. Osaka castle is FLOODED with tourist! BTW. People are generally way friendlier than Tokyo. Kyoto, Nara, Kobe very close! I totally recommend it!AdnanSouth Korea - 10Scored 10
The hotel location is great.
The hotel location is great. You are right across the street from two large department stores and designer brands like LV. There is a metro station in the basement as well as some restaurants and a boutique. It's a couple of blocks from Shinasaibashi Dori and about a 12 minute walk to Dotonburi. Hotel staff is very helpful and welcoming.

love Himeji castle and Koko-en Garden. Had lunch at the restaurant inside koko-en garden, it has pretty view, delicious meal and it is not expensive. You should try. did alot of shopping in Tenjinbashisuji shopping street. It is a long shopping street, mostly local go there. Osaka is great, almost a world apart from Tokyo culturally. It was far less formal and felt almost like you had left Japan (the amount of tourists probably helped contribute to that also). We had some amazing nights there, meeting some great people, but can be a bit exhausting if you save Osaka until the end of a long trip. The popular areas can be a bit overwhelming but we found lovely walks by the river and open spaces to escape the crowds. Close to Kyoto for day trips. Excellent food at the local restaurants. Don’t be intimidated by the lack of menus in English.

Great city to visit, shopping is fantastic and not as busy as Tokyo. Plenty to do. We used the train network, the train network is both beyond great and easy to use if you live there, (meaning) we were a group of six and have travelled many times in the past and in Japan the rail took lots of effort to understand the complexity on that large scale, some of the smallest of stations are the size of melbournes main station, the stations are so big, a simple mistake is a lot of wasted time.

My 2nd APA hotel during my first trip to Japan, seems like a reliable hotel chain. There is a vending machine for milk right outside the onsen on the 2nd floor. The TV in the room also had casting and free VODs. There are also quite a few familymart convenience stores and other restaurants nearby.

The Chillax trip in Osaka couldn't be better as mainly we spent our time in Osaka city with 2 subway lines that cover most of attractions. Small area of reception compared to many guests but when you went to your floor luckily was not too noisy. The bed was comfortable and the room size is bigger than many standard japanese hotels.
