We came into Cape May while a movie was being filmed and couldn't use our gps.I called the desk at the Avondale, and Alex directed us in . The Avondale has on site parking, the staff were courteous and professional, the room was simple but immaculate .It had a UHD TV with cable as opposed to ROKU which is useless if you don't have an account. It had a small refrigerator and a microwave and ice machine were steps away. There is also coffee and tea available and a continental breakfast in the AM. We were delighted! We can't say enough good things about the staff.Alex suggested dinner and breakfast places, which were very good.

First to clarify the review about the hotel. Some of the desk employees could have shown a more pleasant attitude! The cleaning crew was very nice and helpful. The room was practical and clean. Unfortunately, the plumbing in the room was an issue. While taking a shower, the water filled up the bath tub and the toilette did not flash properly. This made our stay a little uncomfortable.

Cape May is a beautiful historic town with a beautiful sandy white beach and promenade you can talk a long walk on. The views are scenic. The beautiful Victorian bed and breakfast homes are breathtaking. The MAC theatre group in town runs fun events year round. The have many restaurants, hotels, and shops. The Mall at Cape May has many unique shops. It is expensive to stay in Cape May unless you get off season specials. Also, it is very crowded everywhere in Cape May. You will have long waits for breakfast and dinner and parking is very difficult. Come with your patience and money and you will have a wonderful time.

I have been traveling to Cape May several times a year since childhood. It has grown on many ways, such as the arts, culture and historical learning opportunities. Cape May M.A.C also ensures preservation of the nation's oldest seaside resort. The town offers unique dining and shopping experiences as well wineries and countless activities all while maintaining Cape May's historical integrity!

Cape May is a beautiful place to relax and take in all the historical views.
The weather was bad but we still managed to enjoy the wineries and were able to go on the Whale Watcher excursion (2hours) and see some dolphins. The shops and restaurants are also a great experience.
We love checking out new places to have breakfast in. Overall, Cape May is great to visit in the summer, as well as in the Fall.

Horse & carriage tour with the history of Cape May.
Horse & carriage tour with the history of Cape May. So many beautiful homes. There is much to enjoy at Cape May. It's just a matter of choice and how much time available. Lots of interesting shops which we did not visit. We did visit the Church down by the Washington Street shops. Drove by the Emlen Physick house.

Excellent Restaurant and Service
Great location to the Beach.
Lounge chair on the beach so helpful ..just bring your own towels.
Clean Room in Kings Court; however AC was too loud for sleeping in that section of Hotel.
We stayed in Bldg #1 IN THE PAST AND AC was fine.
This small motel is a hidden gem right across the street from the beach. If you are looking for a luxury hotel, this is not for you. If you are are looking for a reasonably priced, clean, safe, and friendly accommodations in a great location, than this is for you! The motel itself is definitely an older structure with a 70’s motel vibe. My girlfriends were celebrating our 60th birthdays in Cape May, stayed in the efficiency and were very comfortable. The staff could not be any more friendly and accommodating. We will be back!
Room was exceptionally clean - very nice. Beds were comfortable. Housekeeping services were very good. Staff was very friendly and accommodating! If you're just looking for a clean place to stay for a night or two, Cape Harbor in great at a great price. Just don't expect all the amenities you get at a hotel with a high price tag.
Lovely clean and contemporary hotel. Directly across the street from the beach situated in a quiet and peaceful area. The hotel is clean, well kept, making updates to the property. There is a pool, outdoor patio, restaurant and parking garage. All amenities are attractive making this a great place to sy in Cape May.
This resort was perfect. The location, the staff, the room everything was perfect. Jojo at the front desk was amazing. This resort included beach chairs, umbrellas and was all taken over to the beach by someone at the hotel Also included is transportation into town and back.
Location is amazing - right on the beach. The facility has a pool and great yard area for families. The rooms were comfortable enough. They were not luxury, but they had the necessities. I would be comfortable staying here again. I appreciated the parking on-site as well.
A good hotel all rooms with sea views . Cooking facilities . The bar is on the front of the property we were 3 floors above which was a little intrusive but also entertaining at times . Good parking .Fabulous views .
Avondale by the Sea had to be the nicest and CLEANEST place we’ve stay at in Cape May!!! The staff were absolutely fabulous!!! The Continental Breakfast was phenomenal !! I highly recommend this place to everyone!!!
The hotel was great for the area. It gives you that colonial feeling of Cape May. The property was right across the beach and it was walking distance from all the eateries and bars.
We stayed last at the ICONA Cape May in October 2019. We liked our stay then, and we enjoyed our stay this time. We look forward to booking another time in 2022.
